Introduction

Our components are high-tech parts and require regular maintenance to ensure proper function. This article provides information on the required maintenance intervals.

Maintenance intervals

The required maintenance intervals are largely depended on the conditions of use. Generally we require these maintenance intervals:

Task & Interval

Thorough inspection of the component under normal operating conditions (depending on the component, cleaning, disassembly, replacement of wear parts, lubrication, adjustment) : 1x per year

Thorough inspection in adverse operating conditions (regular rides in the rain, heavy pollution, snow & salt, dust) : 4x per year

Check tightening torques : Every 20 operating hours

Thorough component inspection for defects : Before and after every ride

Service in the event of abnormalities (noise, deformation, limited function) : Immediately

Cleaning according to care instructions : After every ride

Failure to complywith the maintenance intervals may result indefects and injuries! Check all components fordamage and proper function before and after each ride. In case of defects, the component must not be used. In this case, contact your dealer immediately!

Replacement parts

Should spare parts be necessary after a defect or due to wear, only original tune spare parts may be used! Spare parts can be obtained from a tune dealer.

The use of third-party spare parts willvoid the warrantyand may result in defects!

Performing maintenance

Maintenance work on tune components must always be carried out by an official dealer with the aid of the appropriate tune tools. The required tools can be obtained directly from us.

Maintenance instructions are provided for selected maintenance tasks. These must be followed when carrying out the task. Defects resulting fromimproper maintenancearenot covered by the warranty!

Lifetime

All components have a limited lifetime.

The safety requirements and test methods defined in the current standards for offroad mountain bikes and racing bikes for amateur use on public roads define a finite number of load cycles to be endured. This test method implies a limited service life of the tested components. The time of replacement depends on the intensity of use.

Regular maintenance in accordance with the maintenance intervals and observance of the assembly instructions maximizes the durability of the components.

Cleaning instructions

Introduction

Proper cleaning is important to preserve function and appearance of your tune components as long as possible. This article explains what to consider during cleaning.

What should be considered during cleaning?

If the components are used regularly, regular cleaning is also recommended. We recommend cleaning after each ride. Use under special conditions (rain, high temperatures, winter with road salt) may require particularly thorough cleaning to avoid damage.

For cleaning we recommend the following cleaners and tools:

Water - warm if needed (<55°C/<131°F).

Mild cleaner - Check compatibility with the component on a non-visible area before further use!

The use ofaggressive cleanersmust be avoided! Depending on the ingredients, the cleaner may attack ordamage anodized surfaces or plastics!Acetone, for example, can damage the surface of carbon components.

Sponge or microfiber cloth.

Possibly compressed air for drying.

Cleaning must not be carried out with ahigh-pressure cleaner! The high water pressure carries moisture and dirt past seals and can thusdamage bearingsand cause corrosion inside components!

What is the procedure for cleaning?

  1. Wet the component to be cleaned generously with water to wash off coarse dirt.
  2. Apply cleaner and allow to act according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Rinse off cleaner generously. If necessary, repeat application and rinsing until surface is completely cleaned.
  4. Depending on the geometry of the component, the use of a sponge or microfiber cloth can be helpful in removing dirt. Be careful not to damage the surface through adhering dirt particles on the sponge or cloth.

Persistent, dried-in dirt shouldnot be removed by a more aggressive cleaner!A longer soaking with water is better suited to loosen the soiling!

  1. After cleaning, the component should be dried to avoid water spots and corrosion. Compressed air or a dry, soft cloth are suitable for drying.
