Sapim Polyax Secure Lock Nipple – Lightweight Aluminium Nipple with Integrated Thread Lock

The Sapim Polyax Secure Lock nipple is a high-quality aluminium nipple designed for lightweight, reliable and precise wheel builds. Thanks to its anodized finish, it saves weight and adds a clean colour accent to every wheel.

The Polyax design allows the nipple to align more naturally with the spoke angle, helping to reduce stress between spoke and nipple. This supports a cleaner spoke line and makes wheel building easier, especially with modern rims and different drilling angles.

Depending on the selected version, the nipple is available as a standard nipple or as an UpSideDown version. The standard version remains accessible from the outside of the rim, making adjustment and truing straightforward. The UpSideDown version is designed for internal nipple systems, where the nipple is positioned 100% inside the rim.

Note: UpSideDown nipples are silver anodized. Since they are hidden inside the rim, the colour is not visible once the wheel is built.

The Double Square design, where applicable, allows the nipple to be tightened from the inside of the rim. This is especially useful for professional wheel building and centering machines. Another advantage: the visible outer surface of the nipple is not damaged during tensioning, keeping the wheel looking clean and refined.

Sapim’s patented Secure Lock technology helps prevent the nipple from loosening over time. A precisely formed deformation in the thread creates a defined locking resistance of 12cNm, helping to maintain spoke tension and improve long-term wheel stability.
