Das Team - die Menschen hinter Tune

Nicolas
Nicolas is the organizational genius at Tune. Beyond excelling in supply chain management, he’s also a true beer connoisseur (his time in Belgium left its mark). Otherwise, Nicolas is pondering life’s big questions: Should I buy a gravel bike? Should I go for lightweight or custom steel bikes? It’s tough. In the meantime, he rides everything from road bikes to enduro. With his two MTBs and a road bike, boredom is definitely not an issue.

Marzena
You can’t tell the story of Tune without Marzena, and her life story wouldn’t be complete without Tune. Marzena was one of the first employees of the then-small company in the early ’90s and is still part of the team today. If you were to wake her at 3 a.m. and ask about the spoke tension of a 20-year-old wheel, she’d give you the answer immediately (we haven’t tested this, but we’re sure she’d nail it). Over the years, she’s ridden everything: MTB, road bikes, MTB with a trailer—you name it. If you own a Tune wheel, chances are it’s been through Marzena’s hands!

Alexandre
When it comes to quality assurance, there’s no getting around Alexandre. He works tirelessly every day to combat poor surface finishes, anodizing flaws, and deviations in tolerances to ensure Tune offers its customers the best possible quality. He has an eye for detail and great dexterity. In his free time, though, he likes things to be a bit more explosive—whether it’s playing baseball or cycling (when the kids allow it, of course).

Markus
Another Tune veteran. Markus has been with the company for at least 10 years—maybe more? No one knows for sure. But what is certain is that Markus is a walking encyclopedia of Tune knowledge. What bearings were used in the hubs back in 2013? Markus knows. While he doesn’t officially work as a Tune encyclopedia, Markus is part of the internal service team, quickly and efficiently handling orders and service cases.

Julian
Julian is employed at Tune to spread nonsense on the internet—these days, they call that marketing. When he’s not busy posting quirky videos on Instagram, he works with our international customers in the sales department. He’s one of the few at Tune who doesn’t ride MTB because hurtling over roots and rocks at high speed sounds far too dangerous. He much prefers racing downhill at 80 km/h on the road—ideally on his Cervelo Soloist or Canyon Grizl.

Carsten
Carsten is not just a passionate endurance athlete but also a fan of bikepacking. His motto: adventure, yes—but with a hotel. Camping gear stays at home. He’s already completed several tours and even accompanied Jonas Deichmann on swimming and cycling adventures. Carsten describes himself as an "old white man," but he’s our old man. His sporting achievements and wealth of experience prove that passion for sport and adventure has no age limit.

Luc
“Luc, can you take a look at what’s wrong with my bike?” A phrase like this is heard almost every week at Tune. The reason? Luc is a professional mechanic for AS Bike Racing when he’s not quickly tackling service cases at Tune or contributing to the development of new products. Oh, and he’s also a frame builder. An engineer by training, mechanic, and frame builder, Luc is a true Swiss Army knife when it comes to bikes.

Lucas
Lucas is Tune’s technical director, and he’s all in when it comes to his role. He lives and breathes Tune, which becomes clear as soon as you talk to him. Dedicated to developing top-quality Tune components, Lucas is a perfectionist who leaves nothing to chance. Favorite cycling discipline? All of them! Lucas rides MTB, road, and gravel bikes and has a special passion for custom builds.

Wooky
"Woof, woof, wooooooof, woof, grrr, grrrrrrr."
Seriously, Wooky is our furry part-time employee. In his free time, he spends a lot of time with Lucas and even tests plenty of Tune components himself, like on shared MTB trips. During his time at Tune, his main job has been boosting team morale and making good use of lunch leftovers.

Denis
Where to start with Denis? He’s like a Swiss Army knife at Tune, though his real passion lies in building wheels. If you’re riding a Tune wheel, there’s a good chance Denis built it. Outside of work, Denis is highly competitive and takes part in various sports, from cycling to soccer. Oh, and he also has two enormous dogs, which he loves walking when he’s not tinkering with vintage cars.

Julien
Julien is a bit of a surprise package—you’ll see why. He often spends his holidays in Las Vegas, speaks Mandarin fluently, and when he’s not traveling to the US or China, he enjoys relaxing with PC games like CoD or Fortnite. But he also has a sporty side, with a passion for cycling and snowboarding. Oh, and he’s an excellent hub builder (he builds all our hubs, so he’d better be!).

Victor
Victor is a former MTB junior pro and WC winner. Since childhood, he has ridden various cycling disciplines but has clearly lost his heart to MTBs. In his free time, you’ll almost always find him on his bike. He loves nothing more than racing through the Vosges, feeling the region’s signature black soil beneath his tires. Afterward, he often enjoys a pizza—or heads straight to his side gig as a mechanic for a cyclocross team, keeping him connected to professional sports. This connection is something Victor needs in his daily life as an engineer at Tune, where he’s already working on upcoming projects. Oh, and in the summer, Victor sometimes bikes to work—a relaxed 90 kilometers round trip. A completely normal commute, right?

Arthur
Arthur is our curious all-rounder—always on the lookout for new challenges and ideas. As a Product Manager, he loves testing the latest prototypes, giving it his all, especially when it comes to his favorite discipline, enduro. On top of that, he’s the administrator of Tune’s Instagram channel, keeping everyone up to date. And how many bikes does one need? Arthur says: at least five!
