Micro, Nano, Nano CS, Yokto, Pico manuals (12x100, 15x110 Boost)

The following manual will guide you through the disassembly and assembly of our current hubs line up by the easiest way. if you own a universal bearing tool kit such as Parktool or Enduro Bearings kit, feel free to use it. The tool kit used in the manual below is 3D printed with PLA, the file can be downloaded for free below in the tool list (just click on the TOOL you need) if you have a 3D printer. If your hubset uses shims and have a blue, black, or gold freehub body, please use the Kill/Climbhill, Prince/ss manuals.

Tools, parts and consumables needed

Tool list :

  • 3D Printed Tune tool kit (on the photo, from left to right, TOOL 1, TOOL 2 and TOOL 3)
  • Plastic or soft rubber hammer
  • Big allen key with a flat end (size from 6mm is working as long at least 15cm long)
  • Flat screw driver (only for 15mm boost front hub)

Parts and consumables :

  • Parts needed (see each step for parts reference)
  • Mounting paste (Molycote G rapid plus paste or similar)
  • Grease (Molycote Longterm 2 plus, Dumond freehub grease or oil, or similar)

1) Front hub disassembly & assembly (12x100, 15x110 Boost)

Disassembly step 1 : Remove end caps

12x100 : Use the allen key through to hub to remove one end cap then the other.

15x110 Boost : Put the screw driver in the dedicated axle slot. Put the allen key in contact with the screw driver. By pushing on it, remove one end cap then the other.

From here boost and non boost hub are working the same.

Disassembly step 2 : Remove axle and disc side bearing

Place the disc side on tool 1 to use it as a stable base. Place tool 2 on the axle and hammer it gently.

Once out, remove bearing grom the axle by pulling by hand.

Disassembly step 3 : Non disc side bearing removal

Flip the hub on the base, place the axle in the hub to use it as a tool to remove the second bearing from the hub shell.

Remove the bearing from the axle by pulling by hand.

Replacement bearing kit : BNZ0519

You just finished unbuilding your hub. Make sure that everything is nice and clean. You can wipe them with a rag and isopropanol. Be careful to not use any product that can wear parts or coating.Inspect every part to see if there is abnormal whearout. Assembly step 1 : Non disc side bearing installation

Apply mounting paste on both bearing seats. Place the hub disc side on tool 1. Put the bearing on the non drive side of the hub.

Warning : For Enduro Bearing Abec 5 steel bearing put the blue seal on the outside of the hub.

Place tool 3 and tool 2 on the bearing and hammer it gently. The bearing should take place straight into the hub.

If it starts to slide in, not straight, put the bearing out and start again.

Assembly step 2 : Axle assembly

Put grease on both sides of the axle. Slide the axle into the hub.

Warning 12x100 : The hole on the axle must be on the disc side. For the boost hubs the axle is symmetric.

Assembly step 3 : End cap non disc side installation

Put the double lip end cap on the hub. Lay the hub, the endcap on the workbench and hammer the axle gently until everything is in contact.

Tip : You can apply a bit of marine grease on the endcap to help for water sealing but it will add a bit of friction into the hub.

Assembly step 4 : Non disc side bearing installation

Place the hub directly on the work bench. The hub should lay on this non disc side end cap on a non-marring surface as wood or high density plastic. Place the disc side bearing on the axle.

Warning : For Enduro Bearing Abec 5 steel bearing put the blue seal on the outside of the hub.

Place tool 3 on the bearing. Hammer it gently. As on the other side it should come in straight. If not, remove it and start again.

Assembly step 5 : Disc side end cap

Take the second end cap, place it on the axle and hammer it gently. 

Tip : You can apply a bit of marine grease on the endcap to help for water sealing but it will add a bit of friction into the hub

Well done, you just finished servicing your front hub. Let’s go outside and enjoy your ride.

Disassembly step 1 : Remove end caps

Use the allen key through to hub to remove one end cap then the other.

Disassembly step 2 : Axle & disc side bearing disassembly, freehub removal

Put the hub disc side on tool 1. Put tool 2 on the axle. Hammer it gently until the axle isn’t in the free wheel body any more.

Then, remove the freehub and take care to not lose any spring or pawls.

Disassembly step 3 : Remove axle and bearing

Pull the axle out of the hub body by pulling by hand.

Then, remove the bearing from the axle by pulling by hand.

Disassembly step 4 : Remove drive side bearing

Place the hub with the drive side on the tool 1 to use it as a base. Insert the axle with the short side first to use it as a tool. Hammer it gently to remove the bearing.

Disassembly step 5 : Remove bearing

Remove the bearing from the axle by pulling by hand.

Replacement bearing kit : BNZ0520

You just finished unbuilding your hub. Make sure that everything is nice and clean. You can wipe them with a rag and isopropanol. Be careful to not use any product that can wear parts or coating. Assembly step 1 : Drive side bearing installation

Apply mounting paste on both bearing seats. Place the hub disc side on tool 1. Put the big bearing on the drive side of the hub.

Warning : For Enduro Bearing Abec 5 steel bearing, put the blue seal on the outside of the hub.

Place the tool 3 and the tool 2 on the bearing and hammer it gently. The bearing should take place straight into the hub. If it starts to slide in, not straight, put the bearing out and start again.

Assembly step 2 : Axle assembly

Put grease on both sides of the axle. Slide the axle into the hub. The axle should not slide further as the bearing you just press in.

Assembly step 3 : Freehub installation

Apply grease on the teeth of the teeth ring (Molycote Longterm 2 plus, Dumonde PRO X Freehub grease, or Dumonde freehub oil). All teeth should be greasy.

Put the freehub on the hub by turning it counter-clockwise to help the pawls getting into place.

Assembly step 4 : Drive side end cap installation

Align the sleeve inside the freehub. Place the drive side endcap on the freewheel. The hub should lay on this non-disc side end cap on a non-marring surface as wood or high density plastic Then hammer the axle gently until it goes all the way through.

Assembly step 5 : Disc side bearing installation

Place the hub directly on the work bench. The hub should lay on this non disc side end cap on a non-marring surface as wood or high density plastic. Place the disc side bearing on the axle.

Warning : For Enduro Bearing Abec 5 steel bearing Put the blue seal on the outside of the hub.

Place tool 3 on the bearing. Hammer it gently. As on the other side it should come in straight. If not, remove it and start again.

Assembly step 6 : Disc side end cap installation

Take the second end cap, place it on the axle and hammer it gently.
